Persona

Amongst the great achievements of the UAE is that of having spent resources and funding invested on its population, in its education and development.

“All that is in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is for the UAE and its people. We have never been, nor ever will be among those who rest on their laurels; nor those who obsess on their success; nor those who believe that the march forward will continue automatically. “ says Sheikh bin Rashid Al Maktoum in regard to this.
Persona is born as an installation where the observer himself is at the center of the artwork.

The installation acts as a stage where to celebrate subjectivity as well as the Emirati population in its diversity and inclusivity.
We all, as Uae citizens, are part of the larger society mosaic pattern and play a vital role in it.
The hexagon Islamic pattern is broken down to its primary element then recomposed spatially through the use of mirrors.

The floor pattern extends vertically in mirror walls, creating a space infinitely large that expands, multiplies, and reflects the image of the hexagonal pattern like in a kaleidoscope.
The observer’s reflected image is sent back multiplied to infinity and triggering mechanisms of amazement, surprise, and play.

The work is 2.50 meters wide and 2.70 meters high. Made in plasterboard, it will have its internal walls covered in full-height mirrors.
